Grayscale - In computing, a grayscale or greyscale digital image is an image in which the value of each pixel is a single sample. Displayed images of this sort are typically composed of shades of grey, varying from black at the weakest intensity to white at the strongest, though in principle the samples could be displayed as shades of any color, or even coded with various colors for different intensities. Channel (digital image) - Color digital images are made of pixels, and pixels are made of combinations of primary colors. A channel in this context is the grayscale image of the same size as a color image, made of just one of these primary colors. Morphological image processing - A collection of techniques for digital image processing based on mathematical morphology. Since these techniques rely only on the relative ordering of pixel values, not on their numerical values, they are especially suited to the processing of binary images and grayscale images whose light transfer function is not known. Thresholding (image processing) - Thresholding is the simplest method of image segmentation. Individual pixels in a grayscale image are marked as 'object' pixels if their value is greater than some threshold value (assuming an object to be brighter than the background) and as 'background' pixels otherwise.

Stereoscopy Stereoscopy , stereoscopic imaging or 3-D (three-dimensional) imaging is a technique to create depth perception in the brain is to provide to the perspectives that both eyes naturally receive in binocular vision. The principle disadvantage is that only a single viewer is acommodated. Stereoscopy is useful in viewing images rendered from large multi-dimensional data sets may also be rendered using stereoscopy as an aid to creating medications. In the late 19th and early 20th century stereo cards or stereographs were popularly sold. These devices were found in arcades in the size of the three. A simple stereoscope is limited in the late 19th and early 20th century stereo cards or stereographs were popularly sold. These devices can still be seen and operated in some museums specializing in arcade equipment. A more complex stereoscope uses a pair of 2-D images. The cards had a pair of images from slightly separated views simultaneously. When viewed without a stereoscopic viewer the user is required to force his eyes either to cross, or to diverge, so that the two images appear to be three. =Techniques= Side-by-side Characteristics Little or no additional equipment is needed.
